We've got 24 characters accounted for, and plenty of info on the game itself...some worthwhile, a lot of it not so much.

Anyway, with the clock winding down on the release date, anybody have any thoughts as far as what's to come?

I have thoughts. I'm very happy that Olimar is an official character, since Nintendo needs to recognize characters that aren't fat plumbers/blondes encased in scifi body armor/men who look like 12 year old girls. I also hope that the Koopalings at least get trophies/stickers. I'm not holding out for something like an assist trophy for those seven hellspawn children, but that would be nice.

And just like a bunch of people I hope Krystal is in. If they're going to announce her at all on the website, I'm assuming it'll be before Jan 31 or whatever the Japanese release date is.

And it's a fair assumption that Star Fox will get two levels (since it did in the last one). Since the first level (Lylat Cruise) is based around all their flight exploits, I'd like the second one to be based on ground exploits. Maybe set on one of the Landmaster levels, like maybe fighting on top of that stupid monkey guy's train. Or Krazoa Palace, that'd make a fine-looking level (and I can see wind lifts making combat interesting).

And if they somehow made a level based on the Glitz Pit from the second Paper Mario... I'd mark out instantly.

My choice for the second stage would be the Aparoid Homeworld, but if they do include Krystal, Krazoa Palace would be a nice touch.

In the case that they're not announcing secret characters, I wouldn't expect many more brawlers being revealed at this point. It's also interesting to note that none of the characters that were secret in Melee have been confirmed for Brawl...

This forum looks lonely. In any case, I remember being on this stupid board called ninten (or pdark, one of the two, as they sorta merged or something... that's a huge memory trip for me), and everyone was saying Melee's secret characters had to be fake, the screenshots were all photoshopped, there was no way HAL/Nintendo would be dumb enough to put in two Links, two Marios, and Game and Watch...

At this point, I'm half-expecting Brawl's final secret character to be a sentient stack of playing cards. How's THAT for going back to Nintendo's roots?

Somebody apparently made a post saying that they got some interesting rumors from a reliable source. These rumors, listed back in October, included:

Lucario replacing Mewtwo
Ness being confirmed
The Dragoon being an item in the game.

Wolf and Captain Falcon were other confirmations. Nothing was contradicted. Could've just as easily been fake though (dates on the screen cap changed), so who knows.

Great, someone in Japan has the game and has been leaking like a budget-priced diaper. Now I know the first thing I do when I wake up is to turn on the computer and go look for stuff...

These leaks are actually rather disappointing. All they've done is confirm characters that were already in Melee. That's rather depressing if they're just reusing the same hidden characters...

Falco deserves to be replaced. Krystal should have replaced falco. and by the way......they shud have made C. falcon playable from the beggining and made samarai Goroh (fromn F-zero) a hidden char as well.Gannondorf deserves to stay. hes an epic villan (unlike bowser. a punny old koopa) who i want to smash with ike.
