I think one of the most important things with a standalone picture is that, unless it's an in-joke, it needs to make sense without a detailed description. Even in knowing Paddy's background, there isn't enough being shown or said here to get across what exactly he's done...it's only in reading your artist's comments that it's clear. You'd benefit from changing the dialogue to better reflect what it is about the eggs that they're reacting to. Roison might help if she said something in her oblivious state.
As far as the artwork...the only thing that really sticks out is how Siobhan's right arm goes OVER her right breast, as if she's pulling it under her armpit. Her arm should really be behind it. On a positive note, facial expressions are solid as always...I almost wonder if the picture would benefit from seeing Paddy's face as well, though that depends on how well you feel his dialogue drives the point home regarding his mentality.
Thanks for bringing these to my attention. I probably would have been better off emphasizing the egss more as including some dialogue for Roisin.
And yes I do see what you mean by Siobhan's arm. that was a huge error on my part and will note on this for future reference. I can't believe I made a really bonehead move like that. (is bricked) As for expressions, yeah those I always do well with. As for Paddy's expression, just picture it as if he is madly laughing. XD
Thanks a lot for the feedback man. It's greatly appreciated.
No problem. As far as Siobhan's arm, if you have a decent art program (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro), you should be able to fix that digitally. Best technique would be to use the pen tool (not the paintbrush) to map a new line for her top, then take the clone brush, select a point close by on the top and color over the original line and arm that shouldn't be there. It's a fairly simple procedure that's probably easier demonstrated than explained, but there's only so much I can do in a comment. If you still need help, I might be able to show you later on this week, once I'm not on deadline at work.
